The rapidly developing Turkish automotive industry has a powerful impact around the world.

One of the main resources of Turkey, which has the 13th largest economy in the world, is the automotive industry. So much so that the 2nd biggest commercial vehicle manufacturer and 4th largest motor vehicle manufacturer in Europe. This size shows that it is the 14th largest motor vehicle manufacturer. Automotive industry has been leading export sector of Turkey for the last 15 years with over 30 billion USD export volume and 1.3 million units of motor vehicle export just before Covid-19 pandemic. Türkiye also has 185 Research and Development centers dedicated to the automotive industry. Ford company’s R&D center is one of Ford’s three largest global R&D center, also Fiat’s center in Bursa is the Italian company’s only center in European market outside its home country.
Powerful Industries

The sub-industry sector, which has nearly 7000 SMEs and nearly 200 foreign joint ventures, has 50 years of experience and exported 9.5 billion USD in 2020. This means 37% of total automotive exports. Also 30 of the world’s 50 largest suppliers manufacture in Turkey and have a localization rate of 50 to 70 percent in the OEM field.

The TOGG project, which will change the game in automotive industry, will contribute 50 billion USD to Turkey’s GDP. Many parts of the TOGG brand, which will have a total of 20 thousand employees, will be provided as domestic production, especially the battery. Thanks to Türkiye’s superior production capacity, 5 different TOGG models are planned to be produced in 10 years, with a total of 1 million units.
